Deliver culturally sensitive Aboriginal Awareness Training to Canadian Forces personnel and to the Department of National Defense civilian team members.
Job Description:
Provide historical overview of Aboriginals in Canada (Pre -Post contact)
Provide current Aboriginal social structure and political organizations of Aboriginal peoples in Canada (First Nations, Métis and Inuit)
Provide historical overview of political and legislative perspectives and their impact on Aboriginal peoples
Provide Cultural Perspectives of the various Aboriginal customs, traditions, ceremonies and symbols
Provide a historical perspective on Aboriginal peoples and contributions to the Canadian Forces and Canada
Mandatory Qualifications:
5 years experience teaching Aboriginal awareness courses
3 years experience working with Aboriginal peoples in a training/educational environment
Must be of Aboriginal heritage or background
