Position Overview/Summary:
Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, this position is responsible for the professional management of Field Service and Service Centre assignments on new installations and overhauls of compressor and turbine projects. The Project Manager will work in coordination with Sales, Intercompany branch operations and vendors . This position will work closely with Administrative Assistants, Project Coordinators and Project Engineers to successfully manage projects .
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred): Required:
Three (3) plus years of work experience in the compressor/service industry, five (5) years an asset
Must be computer proficient with the Microsoft Office package including Microsoft Project
Travel to customer sites to support sales and manage projects
Strong client facing and interpersonal skills.
Considerable time management capabilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in planning, estimating and procurements of engineering / materials
Experience managing costs, budget experience, etc
Project Mgmt experience
Ability to manage multiple duties and responsibilities at one time
Must be self motivated, able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Must be able to manage up to four (4) projects at once
Must be able to read technical drawings
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Engineering degree, Technologists diploma or Technical certification
Supervisory experience an asset
PMP or CAPM designations an asset
Position Responsibilities and Duties: Key Responsibility 1: Safety
Work safely and follow all rules and procedures.
Attend and participate in all safety meetings and complete required BBAs.
Conduct Behavior Based Safety Audits and report any safety concerns observed
Ensure all employees in the department have completed the required safety training
Understand and adhere to the D-R safety culture/environment.
Key Responsibility 2: Customer Relations
Responsible for maintaining relationships and client communication by conducting the following tasks:
Single point of contact for clients
Work with the client to develop solutions
Key Responsibility 3: Project Management
Provide on-site supervision of equipment installations, and overhauls as needed
Correctly manage project time, cost and resource constraints from the time of opportunity identification to the time of final invoicing and project closure
Develop project manpower requirements and tooling requirements
Develop Project Books to support field crews during overhauls and new installations
Track and manage project costs and margins
Communicate with client during projects, relative to costs and job progress
Manage other project related costs including living expenses, accommodations, transportation, and consumables, etc.
Collect project daily report information, assessments, repair reports from Service Center, and Field Service Representatives were applicable.
Conduct Root Cause Analyses and identify corrective and preventative actions on clients’ complaints and non-conformances
Present final job report to client in a professional manner
Arrange for post job meetings with client
Key Responsibility 4: Budgetary Responsibility
Complete ownership of Services projects (financial/ schedule)
Prepare quotations and proposals for various mechanical projects valued between $5,000 to $3,000,000
Negotiate with clients on projects in regards to scope and pricing
Responsible for monitoring actual costs, while updating the customer on progress of the project
Actively involved in service center job administration from floor work, purchasing of parts and materials, job status and cost accounting. Dresser-Rand - 11 months ago
