The Health and Safety Manager will support the project management of various business units of Canam Group by offering safety consulting services for all construction projects of the Company. He/she will also provide the necessary support to health and safety coordinators of Canam Group plants by acting as a liaison person, sharing among themselves the best preventive practices found in the industry .

For the two main sectors of intervention, the Health and Safety Manager will among others things:

Prevention - Jobsites

Prepare pre-qualifying reports for general contractors and customers.
Develop and implement a prevention program for construction sites.
Supervise prevention agents on jobsites.
Validate and monitor subcontractors’ prevention programs.
Ensure compliance with province or state health and safety standards.

Prevention - Plants

Determine corporate priorities for interventions and assure their implementation (internal audits).
Incorporate strategies and appropriate prevention tools into manufacturing processes.
Oversee the compiling, preparation and updating of statistical reports.
Provide necessary support to general managers, supervisors and health and safety coordinators to achieve their objectives.

Requirements:
College diploma in environmental health and safety or an attestation of collegial studies in health, safety and prevention.
Member of a recognized professional association in occupational health and safety.
Skills Certificate (Quebec) in general health and safety on construction sites.
10 years experience in plant prevention or on construction sites.
Fluent French and English (spoken and written).
Autonomy and recognized initiative skills.
Ready to travel across North American.
