The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Dermatology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, is inviting applications for a dermatologist. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions.
The successful candidate will be a physician/MD with certification in dermatology from a nationally recognized certifying organization (e.g., American Board of Dermatology, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, etc), and with several years of clinical experience. The Faculty seeks a medical dermatologist to establish a dedicated service for the treatment of autoimmune dermatologic disorders, including collagen-vascular and immune-bullous conditions, and skin diseases with significant co-morbidities (i.e., psoriasis, etc.). S/He will be responsible for covering inpatients and the consult service at the University of Alberta Hospital.
The candidate is expected to be enthusiastic about teaching and eager to work with trainees and students. Therefore, the successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Medicine University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. Appointment to the Alberta Health Services Medical Staff is also required. The position will be compensated by fee-for-service.
