We are looking for a Manufacturing Painting and Bonding Specialist for our Thunder Bay (ON) facility.
You will be the responsible for developing and maintaining Painting and Bonding Process Standards.
In your role as a Manufacturing Painting and Bonding Specialist you will:
- Develop, test and implement painting and bonding processes and procedures for optimum efficiency in a production environment. Document all paint processes and procedures to ensure repeatability and consistency of results;
- Maintain Painting as well as Bonding Process Standards, so as to obtain the level of quality expected by the customer. Identify improvement opportunities related to respective activities and work environment;
- Outline training as well as capital investment needs to support implementation of new bonding and paint technology. Conduct employee performance appraisals and develop action plans in conjunction with employees and Manager, Technical Services to further improve performance;
- Liaise with related departments within the organization as well as suppliers to ensure efficient flow of information and optimum organizational performance. Develop departmental schedules to ensure organizational goals are achieved. Will also consult with the Manager of Technical Services on a regular basis so as to ensure departmental goals, schedules and procedures remain consistent with current projections and the intended direction;
- Be responsible for following company Health and Safety policy and procedures. Ensure that all unsafe conditions and practices are reported to your supervisor for corrective action. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate, you possess:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering or a Manufacturing Engineering Community College Technology Program or equivalent;
- 5-10 years working experience in the area of specialization in a manufacturing industry and ability;
- Experience having worked in a unionized environment;
- In-depth understanding of Surface preparation/ repair techniques as well as chemical composition and application of paint and bonding products;
- Excellent English commendation skills, written and spoken; French or German, asset.
