Located at our head office in South Calgary, Agrium currently has an exciting co-op opportunity within our Enterprise Risk Management department. Providing invaluable work experience in a growing company, this position term will begin in September 2013 for 8 - 12 months .
Enterprise Risk Management is a multi-disciplinary function that seeks to promote a strong risk management culture across the organization. The scope of the group is broad, covering the full spectrum of risk, including operational, financial, environmental, political and strategic risks. The goal of this co-op placement is to understand and support the Enterprise Risk function at Agrium and build competency in the core responsibilities of the role which directly aligns to organization objectives. As the successful candidate, you will obtain hands-on experience in analyzing risks that face our company.
Assist in preparing quarterly and annual risk reports for the Board of Directors and Disclosure Committee;
Support in establishment of new processes that promote a positive risk culture across Agrium;
Conduct research on various topics at the management’s request;
Develop understanding of SharePoint framework as a power user and support the ERM group with maintenance and implementation of best-practice SharePoint websites;
Support risk scenario analysis, and
Assist with special projects and requests from business units and risk owners
Progress toward a Bachelors degree - Business, Economics, Engineering, Science, Finance, Risk Management or other similar field (3 rd or 4 th year student);
Strong analytical skills;
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office;
Previous co-op or work term experience is required;
Familiarity with emerging trends in Risk Management and Governance is an asset;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team setting, and
Adaptable and flexible to changing needs of the business.
