An opportunity currently exists for the position of Stakeholder Engagement Planner within the Consultation and Community Relations group. This role requires an experienced and outgoing individual to facilitate implementation of the consultation process required for major electric transmission projects for AltaLink.
Under the leadership of the Manager Stakeholder Engagement and working directly with the Stakeholder Engagement Specialist, the Stakeholder Engagement Planner is accountable for facilitating the delivery of stakeholder consultation strategies for major electric transmission projects, with the objective of obtaining input to assist in the siting of these facilities.
Responsibilities
Co-ordinate CCA (Land agents) on major transmission projects; may include performance assessment and quality control
Assist in determining consultation strategies and processes best suited to a particular project
Design and implement public information sessions, open houses, advisory committee meetings, or other similar events required to ensure full consultation
Consult directly with stakeholders to gather input on project proposals
Maintain and monitor consultation tracking data, and manage related processes and documentation flow
Proactively identify stakeholder engagement opportunities and stakeholder issues and communicate them to the project team
Assist in managing consultants doing public consultation on AltaLink’s behalf
Assist in preparing the consultation portion of AUC Facility Applications
Participate in regional multi-stakeholder organizations
Qualifications
Related degree or diploma (ie. Social Sciences, etc.), or equivalent education and experience
3+ years of related experience, with a minimum of 1 year direct consulation experience
Proven ability in dealing with the public
Demonstrated ability to deal with controversial public/landowner/agency issues
Background with land use and right-of-way issues
Demonstrated team player, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and respond to evolving project requirements
Consultation experience on linear facilities is an asset
Strong mathematical skills are an asset
Proven track record of good attendance and job performance
