A member of the Perfusion and Anesthesia Services department, the RESPIRATORY TECHNICIAN maintains and services Respiratory Therapy and Anesthesia equipment, the principal responsibilities include: performing routine equipment assembly responsibilities; performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance/repair functions; keeping track of inventory on hand; maintaining adequate stock of respiratory and anesthesia supplies/equipment; performing transportation functions; cleaning respiratory and anesthesia equipment; performing cross-functional duties, as assigned or requested; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of Grade XII, or recognized equivalent required
- Completion of a recognized post secondary Electronics Technician program an asset
- Related experience in a health care setting an asset
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language required
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation required
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S) required
