Autodesk is looking for an extraordinary Software Architect to work on new and innovative automotive design and visualization solutions. The Architect will provide technical leadership and vision to a high- caliber group of software developers and will envision and articulate next-generation design and visualization solutions for the automotive sector.
The successful candidate is highly-credible, has strong technical skills, is entrepreneurial and is able to work with a variety of stakeholders and with ambiguous information.
As part of the Automotive Engineering team, the Architect will lead the research, prototyping, analysis, development and maintenance of cutting-edge software for the automotive industry. This individual will work closely with the Automotive Engineering leadership team, as well as the Technical Leads and Architects of related components and platforms to bring a variety of technologies together to initially execute on product vision and ultimately to map out the technical future for Autodesk’s Automotive offerings.

Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and deliver an architectural vision/roadmap for the automotive product portfolio
Identify, investigate and leverage relevant new technologies and trends
Prototype potential solutions to challenging problems
Collaborate with internal and external resources to gather requirements and distill technical input in order to create state-of-the-art solutions
Guide development efforts to ensure quality while maintaining product development momentum
Be a credible and persuasive thought leader in order to successfully drive product innovation and development
Be flexible and adaptable to ensure a robust and compelling product portfolio is delivered to clients
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of software development experience
5+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role
5+ years of development experience with automotive design and visualization tools
Extensive experience with object-oriented architecture and design methodologies (including design patterns)
Thorough knowledge of software development processes, including agile development
Excellent C/C++ skills
Superb object-oriented design acumen
Thorough understanding of cloud and web technologies
Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to multiple priorities, and under changing conditions
Excellent problem solving and algorithmic skills
Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Creative and innovative mindset
Ability to influence without authority
Ability to navigate a complex, highly-matrixed corporate environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the design and development of surface modeling tools
Working knowledge 3D Computer Graphics development (theory and algorithms, OpenGl, DirectX, OpenGl ES)
Familiar with Autodesk Alias and Showcase
