We are currently seeking a Suites & Restaurant Sales Manager for the MTS Centre in Downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The MTS Centre is an indoor facility at 440,000 square feet[1] (41,000 m2) in size. It can seat 15,003 spectators for ice hockey and up to 16,345 spectators for concerts.

The MTS Centre is home to the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets. The MTS Center is also known for its excellent sound acoustics, which has made it a prominent destination for concerts.

REPORTS TO: General Manager or Assistant General Manager

This position requires the management of sales related functions, of the suite level, exchange restaurant and catering annexes, including communicating with inside staff on a daily basis, creating effective new business techniques and maintaining customer service with current clients. As our singular goal is to be #1 in Event Hospitality, all of our managers, chefs and employees are “Hospitality Ambassadors.”

The purpose of this role is to foster relationships with suite holders in order to meet or exceed revenue goals. The Manager will be passionate about planning and committed to educating themselves on current food and beverage trends. The Manager will work closely with the Operations team, Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage. This position is responsible for ensuring the success of a seamless front of house operation on a daily basis for all events and orders. This requires a clear and thorough understanding of the locations geography and overall building operations

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage high volume catered food and beverage services within the suites of the MTS Centre

Plan, direct and control premium sales and services year-round to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives and customer needs

Manage all aspects of the Premium Sales office from Catered Events and Suite orders

Assisting all Catering and Suite clients with their events from initial contact right through to invoicing

Works closely with the Suites Food and Beverage Manager, the Catering and Restaurant Manager, Catering and Suites Assistant Managers as well as the Culinary team to ensure guest satisfaction

Ability to manage in a fast-paced, diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential

Maintain a database of all client prospects and detailed active and prospective account activity

Maintain detailed records of account payment activity and oversee billing and collections

Support the departments at various functions, with on-site public relations, promotional activities and assisting with special events

Represent facility at business, community and social organizations and make sales presentations as required

**Must be willing to be hands on with staff and operations and be willing to work event-based hours that include evenings and weekends

Identify and research prospective clients for solicitation

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required:
Experience in relationship sales, preferably at a sports and entertainment venue or for a sports team.

Must be adept at negotiating and closing sales.

Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.

Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate same with others.

Minimum 5 years prior F&B experience with at least 2 years in a supervisor position.

Strong communication and computer skills with working knowledge of Windows 7, Excel and Publishing Software programs.

Minimum 2 years prior catering sales and menu design experience.

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree.
