The Warehousing and Shipping Manger oversees operations of all shipping, receiving, and warehouse activity at Don Mills in order to safely deliver superior customer service at the lowest possible cost. Specific duties include:
Ensures that quantitative and qualitative measures are met in accordance with the Don Mills operating plan, such as those related to Health and Safety, customer satisfaction, food safety, cost reductions, productivity, good manufacturing practices and sanitation;
Leads a team of one Warehousing and Shipping Assistant Manager, nine supervisors and approximately 100 unionized hourly employees;
Promotes and enhances a positive employee relations environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and development of the team;
Promotes, establishes and maintains high levels of employee involvement;
Makes certain that all departmental processes are adhered to;
Manages inventory losses and budget administration and management;
Maintains the integrity of loading schedules;
Adherence to, review and development of Key Performance Indicators;
Completes special projects and related assignments. Requirements

The ideal requirements of the position are:
A University degree or College diploma in Logistics or a related field;
At least ten years of management experience in a large refrigerated/perishable product warehouse with a high level of shipping and receiving activity;
Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Previous management experience in a unionized environment;
Experience with budget management and administration;
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint);
Familiarity with a WMS system;
Previous exposure to radio frequency technology.
