Director, HR Business Partnerships
We’re looking for a senior HR professional who knows what it takes to enable and support a fast growing technology company. This is a critical and dynamic role within business and will work with the senior leaders of Kobo. We are looking for someone with a strong desire to support rapid growth, who can deal with ambiguity, and can be an active contributor to our HR team.
This role provides HR leadership, consulting support and advice to senior management to successfully deliver against business unit and global/divisional HR strategies. In addition, this role will contribute to the future business strategies by helping leaders to identify, and build organizational capabilities, behaviours, structures, and processes. This position will liaise with key business stakeholders and other functional areas of HR. The role is based in Toronto.
Responsibilities
Functions as an integral part of both the business and Human Resources teams
Develops and implements HR initiatives which support business strategies meeting current and future business requirements
Provides expert leadership in areas of; talent management, employee engagement, organization design and development, coaching and change management
Liaises with other HR functions to achieve desired outcomes
Provides HR data, information, direction and advice to business leaders in identifying business specific issues, influencing decisions and implementing HR programs and practices that support business objectives
Acts as a talent coach and talent broker
Ensures leaders are fully versed on company policies and practices ensuring compliance with all HR related processes and legislative requirements
Provides business unit leadership in the implementation of HR programs including the annual compensation cycle, talent review, engagement survey review etc
Desired Skills & Experience
Minimum of 10 years progressive HR generalist knowledge along with functional mastery in at least two Human Resources disciplines
Demonstrated experience in building lasting relationships with employees and leaders
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
Strong coaching and feedback skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Superior verbal and written communications
Ability to influence stakeholders as required
Adaptability
