DISCUSSION:
This position will provide the successful candidate with a challenging opportunity to utilize and expand their background technical experience and abilities in assisting our sales staff with the challenges of maintaining existing business and growing opportunities with new customers. This person must possess technical expertise, confidence, and the ability to work on their own as well as in a team environment. This area has several established long-term accounts, with several key target accounts to work on. The District 93 customer base consists mainly of conventional oil production, with some sweet and sour gas production. As such, this role will provide exposure to all product lines and product application scenarios.
This is a safety sensitive position and qualified candidates are required to complete drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Champion’s Drug and Alcohol policy CBU Drug & Alcohol Policy .
GRADE:
71 – 73 Depending on qualifications
THE INDIVIDUAL:
Preference will be given to the candidate who has graduated from a post-secondary institution or university with a related technical diploma or degree. We are also looking for an individual who is self-motivated, organized, and an assertive team player that enjoys challenge. Computer experience and strong people skills are essential. Knowledge of oil and gas treating systems is a definite asset.
DUTIES:
Undertake the production system surveys, problem diagnoses, chemical selection and application
Prepare, present and discuss technical recommendations to customers and internal staff
Be conversant about in-field petroleum production practices
Support the district in business development and maintenance of existing accounts
Support the technical requirements of district sales and management staff
Network with Technical Representatives within the District and other areas for best practice skills and product knowledge sharing
Attend customer meetings/field visits
THE LOCATION:
The successful candidate will be required to work out of the Redcliff office.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Solid background in Oil and Gas treating
Post-secondary education
Excellent computer skills, including excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational and time management abilities
Technical competence and ability to troubleshoot
Product line knowledge is an asset
Excellent work ethic and willingness to travel
Good knowledge of organic chemistry
Strong understanding of oilfield processing equipment and facilities
Well rounded understanding of the oilfield chemical business
Self-starter and team player a must
