We are looking for a hands-on, dynamic individual. The CFO will have day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of the corporation - Canada & Chile.
Accountability / Expected Outcomes:
Ensuring accurate, comprehensive financial statements and related reports, consistent with statutory requirements, are prepared in a timely manner for presentation, including sufficient information to support forecasting predictions
Overseeing all treasury activities including banking, the management of securities and cash portfolios, other liquid assets, and any existing and future debt obligations
Directing the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the corporation’s budget ensuring alignment with corporate goals
Establishing financial controls and accounting procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in Canada and statutory requirements in Chile
Overseeing the disbursement of operating funds and the financial & contractual management of projects
Overseeing existing accounting support staff in both Canada and Chile
Overseeing the management of payroll administration and benefits
Working with officials from senior government and financial institutions;
Ensuring proper systems & controls are in place to identify, report & manage business risks
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including GAAP and IFRS
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
Exceptional verbal, analytical, organizational, interpersonal and written skills
Ability to present a range of evidence-based options on key issues to the CEO and articulate a strong rationale for a recommended solution
Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with executives from government & private lending institutions, regulatory bodies, customers and other stakeholders
Ability to foster a customer-centric culture
Able to work unsupervised, under pressure to meet required deadlines;
Work directly with the CEO on the Strategic Direction of the company;
Minimum Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA)
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior accounting position providing financial accounting and reporting services to senior management with demonstrated experience in the financial area, including financial analysis, financial reporting, asset/liability management and project & risk management. Experience in the design / build manufacturing and / or construction sectors would be an asset.
