Essential:
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Proficient with English language.
- A valid Alberta driver’s license is required for blood collections external to the facility.
Desirable:
- Graduation from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) Certificate Program or equivalent. Candidates with qualifications in a related field may qualify for equivalency.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Computer proficiency.
- Keyboarding skills (25 – 30 wpm)
Assets:
- TDG certificate, WHMIS training.
- Working knowledge of current LIS and HIS.

- Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner.
- Proven analytic and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work rapidly with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in stressful situations.

- Well organized and flexible.
- Extensive walking, bending and standing is required for this job.
- Receptive to new ideas and change.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
