Position: Graphic
Design Project Leader ,
reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications
(35 hours/week)
Start Date: Immediately
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will manage the development,
design and production of internal and external communications media and special
projects, as well as collaborate on ideas and concepts for all printed and
digital promotional and informational material.
The incumbent will also mentor and support stakeholders on branding
guidelines, as well as oversee the
design principles on all CMCC websites.
Responsibilities:

Plans,
and manages the administration and overall production of all publications in
all media types from concept to publication and distribution.
·
Oversees
the production of annual reports, research reports, the Primary Contact
Magazine, Academic Calendars, Student Handbook, membership brochures, Alumni
and Student Services certificates, promotional posters, assorted flyers and
other projects as required.
·
Develops
and designs reports, research reports, the Primary Contact Magazine, Academic
Calendars, Student Handbook, membership brochures, Alumni and Student Services
certificates, promotional posters, assorted flyers and other projects as required.
·
Oversees
the overall design of intranet and public CMCC website.
·
Monitors
website to ensure information is current and complies with the organization's
design standards.
·
Utilizes
Content Management Software to manage user activities (publishing rights) and
approves content. Provides training and support to other CMS users (content
management system users)
·
Provides
consultation, advice and expertise to other
Divisions for communications (design) initiatives.
·
Collaborates with team members on print and web assignments to
determine workflow and scheduling. Follows-up on project workflow/schedule and
advises Director of any issues.

Oversees
the project budget and notifies Director of any problems.
·
Analyzes
existing communication content, proposes and implements improvements in
meetings, collaboration with stakeholders and the Director, Marketing and
Communications.
·
Manages
freelance designers/photographers as required. Manages scheduling and negotiations with external vendors such as
printers, freelance designers and photographers.
·
Monitors, reviews invoices for payment . Escalates any production scheduling issues to
Director and advises of any budget concerns.
·
Performs
other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Academic
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
in fine arts or graphics communication
Post graduate training or
equivalent work experience in marketing or communications is highly
desirable.
Skills and Knowledge
Minimum 7 years of relevant
experience, including project management.
Advanced knowledge of print and
digital production technologies and procedures as well as prepress
experience and knowledge.
Advanced knowledge of desktop and
Web publishing procedures, including HTML, and software such as InDesign,
Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Proficiency with MS Office,
especially Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of web publishing and
editing technologies and experience with content management systems ( CMS )
Demonstrated creativity and
innovation in system solutions and design concepts
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal
communication skills.
Superior interpersonal
and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and
use good time management to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Ability to work cooperatively as
member of a team.
Willingness to update skills on a
regular basis to keep abreast of rapidly changing technology.
