Our Client, Sweep, represents both brand name manufacturers and retailers of electronic products and is responsible for managing recycling and reuse programs for end of life electronics in the province. The program is mandated by the provincial government and includes recycling and reuse of a wide range of electronic items.
The retirement of a long-term manager creates the need for a Program Manager to oversee the effectiveness and integrity of the program which involves some $5 to $7 million in annual expenditures.
Reporting to the Chairman of the Board, the Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the program and contracts with various third party vendors, including collectors, transporters, consolidators and primary processors. The position is located in Saskatchewan.
Qualified candidates will be achievement-oriented team players with relevant business education and at least five years' experience in a management role in distribution, collection, logistics or operations, ideally coupled with knowledge of regulated stewardship entities and Saskatchewan. Experience in dealing with provincial and municipal government and comfort in a public spokesperson role would also be very desirable.
Superb written, verbal and listening communication skills are essential, as is competence in the use of business office software.
