As Senior Health & Safety Advisor , you will report to the Vice President, Technical, in the Corporate group, and be responsible for managing, developing and implementing company-wide strategic health and safety management programs and services.

This senior role will give you the opportunity to

ensure continuous improvement of KCB’s Health and Safety programs worldwide through implementation and execution of policies and procedures in accordance with company objectives and to meet clients’ requirements

provide guidance to KCB employees on safety policies and procedures

mentor Health & Safety Coordinators in various locations

assist Project Managers with health and safety requirements for proposal submissions and projects, including site/project health and safety plans, safety manuals and guidelines

monitor compliance with our Health and Safety System, our clients' safety processes, as well as provincially legislated safety regulations

perform review of safety aspects on job sites, hazard assessments, safety records and incident reports

ensure proper investigation and documentation of near misses, accidents and incidents; ensure incident reports are completed in a timely fashion

conduct safety audits, reviews and inspections

coordinate/facilitate safety education and training for employees; track training activities and collect program completion certificates and records for employee files

maintain and report safety records

as needed, travel to KCB's domestic and international office locations as well as to client sites

If you have a recognized professional certification or training in Occupational Health and Safety, and 7 or more years related experience, ideally with an engineering, environmental or similar professional services firm, we want to hear from you.

excellent understanding of Provincial OH & S Act and COR Certification; Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation (CRSP) an asset

exceptional service-oriented and interpersonal skills

strong oral and written English communication and presentation skills; Spanish language skills an asset

previous experience or education in engineering or environmental science

experience working in a consulting engineering firm

experience with project management activities

ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals

strong leadership skills and ability to work independently; take charge personality and ability to foster change and achieve results while maintaining a team environment

strong analytical problem-solving skills and a bias for action

proven organizational and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and report quality, and hands-on deadline-oriented work style

energy and high degree of initiative and flexibility; ability to seek opportunities to improve efficiency and provide innovative solutions
