Reporting to the Manager, Learning Management System and Learning Technologies, this position will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating the training of learning technology applications for all levels of College employees, required to meet the College’s strategic and business goals. The Facilitator contributes to the development of training plans and is operationally responsible for their implementation and will collaboratively contribute to the production of project deliverables by developing high quality, timely training services and materials.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Engaging in needs analysis for the purpose of designing and delivering specific training;
- Developing tools and resources to provide faculty and staff with effective on-going training;
- Identifying and documenting training effectiveness and efficiency;
- Researching and propose relevant training and educational programs and trends;
- Acting as liaison with related training agencies internal and external to the College;
- Writing service proposals including funding;
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating user evaluations;
- Participating in the provision of advice to College management on computer application training strategies;
- Managing and delivering classroom, workshop, personal, and on-line training sessions for all levels of staff as well as select external client groups;
- Developing materials to support student use of learning technologies;
- Designing, developing, and proposing a learning technology application training plan for the College ensuring consistency and links to the College strategic and business plans in collaboration with other training staff and the Manager, LMS and Learning Technologies;
- Consulting with other areas of the College to identify trends and requirements for future learning needs;
- Identifying and analyzing gaps between current and future training requirements;
- Providing reports on College training trends and issues;
- Arranging for equipment and facilities for training;
- Marketing learning technology training services and events;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a 3 year diploma/degree in training and development or a related field and a minimum of three years experience training adults in the use of computer applications in classroom and individual settings with the ability to design effective training programs, using on-line management systems and related learning technologies, and customer service (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). The candidate must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills; have excellent time management, organization and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work independently in a multi-tasking environment. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are essential to deal effectively with technical and non-technical staff, faculty and vendors.
