Reporting directly to the Construction Director, working closely with the construction coordinators and with the engineering team, the Module Yard Construction Coordinator works as the Owners Representative in the module yard, overseeing the Module Yard construction components of Project VAULT. The Module Yard Construction Coordinator position will be a contract position and the working schedule will be 5 days on, 2 days off, 10 hour days.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Represent the owners and maintain a strong presence at the module yard
Oversee the Fabricators daily construction activities, making sure they adhere to Project Vault’s design, specifications, standards and electrical codes.
Oversee the construction quality in the module yard and report to the Construction Director and Quality manager
Understand the Fabricators planning and schedule activities
Review construction progress and provide recommendations to the Construction Director
Review detailed look ahead schedules and ensure compliance with scheduled milestones, level 3 execution schedules, and the project execution plan
Provide weekly surveillance reports to the Construction Director
Participate in safety walk downs and abide by safety policies and procedures and assist with random safety audits in conjunction with the module yard contractors HE&S Personnel
Review as-builts and follow up to ensure as-builts are diligently completed
Report on progress of the module yard in conjunction with the schedule to the Construction Director
Provide assistance, when required, with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
Qualifications of the position include:
Journeyman trades person (Electrical) or technician/technologist
Knowledge and Understanding of Canadian Electrical codes
Minimum of 10 years of experience within construction supervision and 5 years in a Module yard environment
Experience in Module yard construction
Knowledge of project planning and scheduling techniques and software
Knowledge of OH&S and environmental regulations
Experience working in a open shop environment
Formal safety training an asset

VAULT Programme is derived from VAnscoy’s ULTimate Potash Mine Expansion. The fundamental goal of this project is to reach the ultimate capacity of the Vanscoy, Saskatchewan potash mine. The mega brownfield mine expansion project is expected to generate close to 80+ project-based jobs in the areas of Project Management, Construction Management and Functional Business. The construction phase of the project is expected to require more than 1800 tradespersons at its peak, and approximately 3 million man-hours to complete.
