The City of Brooks has an immediate opening for Works & Utilities Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager, Works & Utilities, and part of the City of Brooks’ management team, the incumbent will be responsible for developing standard business practices within the department, providing support to the Manager and support staff.

The successful candidate will organize, supervise and direct the work of the Works & Utilities office staff and will assist in the hiring, training, mentoring and evaluating of all subordinate staff within approved policies, Collective Agreement, and budget. The incumbent will assist the Manager in the preparation of annual and long range operational and capital budgets and personnel plans, will coordinate personnel schedules, and prepare reports and recommendations for the Manager. The incumbent will also assist in the development of work plans to achieve and establish annual divisional objectives and will coordinate and ensure that all public inquiries and complaints are responded to promptly and according to approved procedures.

The successful candidate must have completed the twelfth (12th) school grade and have successful completion of a recognized post-secondary diploma program in Business Administration. The applicant will have current, continuous, progressive business/office management experience, including one year of basic supervisory experience. Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Applicants must be bondable.
