Preparing and coordinating functional, preliminary, and detailed project drawings with project managers, technical staff and multi-discipline teams
Participating in design & preparation of engineering drawings and specifications using appropriate standards
Perform mathematical calculations related to design and construction
Prepare tender specifications, reports, and design briefs
Assist in preparing work plans and budgets for proposals
Implement training and mentoring of technical staff in the use of CAD design software
Identify, and develop systems to increase efficiencies in production workflow
Providing project cost estimations and participation in project bid submissions
Field services and/or site inspections as required
Assisting in compilation of construction and record information
Other related duties as assigned

Have 10 to 15 years' work related experience, including previous experience in highway/arterial roadway design
City of Winnipeg and MIT design experience would be an asset
Strong aptitude in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Demonstrate solid technical abilities in the area of municipal road and highway facilities and previous exposure to construction activities would be an added benefit
Microstation software experience, minimum entry level experience an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as good relationship building skills with respect to your interactions with team members, clients, suppliers and contractors
Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines while work independently under minimal supervision
A strong work ethic with the desire to excel and to achieve
