We currently have an exciting opportunity a dynamic, experienced and knowledgeable Senior Operations Manager to manage our 200,000 square foot distribution facility in Edmonton, Alberta.
In the role of Senior Operations Manager you will manage and oversee the people and processes surrounding all warehouse functions. Your various responsibilities include, but are not limited to follow-up on special projects, continuously improving processes to maximize efficiency, direct supervision and coaching of warehouse staff (50) and administrative staff (7), implementing and enforcing health and safety practices and procedures, performing quality audits, cycle counting and block auditing, investigate, implement corrective action and follow up on effectiveness for all problem orders, coach, train and counsel staff as necessary to ensure you have and maintain a cohesive, efficient, customer service-driven workforce.
Reporting directly to the Western Region Operations Manager (located in Edmonton), the successful candidate for this position will possess:
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years recent relevant warehouse supervisory or management experience, preferably in a unionized environment
- Knowledge of distribution supply chain an asset
- Well-versed in provincial employment and safety legislation (COR)
- Previous experience in at least one successful facility relocation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills including Windows business application software (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (specifically WMS)
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience (as above)
- Driven, team-player with exceptional leadership skills
