We have an immediate opening for a Senior Design Technician to join our Saskatoon Transportation group.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participate in the design and preparation of engineering drawings based on internal and external design standards; perform engineering calculations
Prepare plans, sections, details, schematic and construction drawings using Civil 3D and AutoCAD and/or InRoads and MicroStation for site grading, drainage and roadway design
Assist in drawing reviews and construction administration
Coordination of project drawings with members of the engineering design team
Ensure that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner
Lead the Transportation Business Centre’s design/drafting team including quality of the groups work and managing resources
Civil Engineering Technology diploma from an accredited post secondary institution
Minimum of 7 years related experience
A strong interest in working in the transportation field, specifically roadway and transit planning/design/construction
Proven ability and experience to work in one or all of the following software packages; AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads or MicroStation for the development of transportation concepts and alternatives
Effective communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal skills within this collaborative team environment setting
Must be well organized and possess the ability to work efficiently in a steady to fast-paced environment where high quality of work and adhering to deadlines are key to the success of the team
