Scale House Operator - PT (2pm to 6pm)
Operate large truck scale, weighs measures and checks materials, supplies and equipment on trucks and trailers, determining value and/or assuring that legal weight limits on trucks and trailers are adhered to.
- Working in the Scale house trailer, this employee is responsible for managing truck traffic on and off scales, inputting gross and tare weights of trucks into the computer.
- Ensures bills of lading, shipping manifests, trucking logs, permits, and other required paperwork are correctly filled out and accompany truck or products.
- Communicates with customers and yard personnel, and prints certified weigh tickets for purchase of sale of material; helps determine load distribution and weighs trucks prior to leaving shipping dock; weighs trucks at highway weigh stations to ensure conformance to Federal and State weight restrictions and requirements.
- Must be comfortable working with a computer inputting data for accurate record keeping of shipping inventory and production records.
