QA Specialist (System)

- The System Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Management System (QMS) reflects regulatory, customer, internal and AS 9100 requirements, this includes scheduling and performing audits of the QMS for compliance and initiating Corrective Actions for nonconformities.

- The Quality Specialist is also responsible for the management of regulatory and/or customer auditors and, in conjunction with the Quality Director, the resolution of findings/observations raised as a result of such audits.

- The QA Specialist works directly with Program, Operations, Engineering and Human Resources Management to ensure the appropriate training has been carried out in each of these disciplines.


1. Review and update the QMS system for compliance with regulatory, customer, corporate and SE-C
2. Implement new or revised requirements and provide training to applicable SE-C employees
3. Develop and produce audit sheet to demonstrate compliance to the QMS
4. Audit the QMS system and produce audit report
5. Initiate and monitor Corrective Action System
6. Coordinate external audit requirements with appropriate department managers
7. Present audit findings during monthly Senior Management Meeting
8. Present Corrective Action status and report on effectiveness of Corrective Actions implemented during
monthly Senior Management Meeting
9. Lead or Co-lead Corrective Action Boards
10. Monitor Transport Canada website for regulatory information that may impact the QMS
11. Monitor the OASIS database for customer and registrar feedback
12. Act as the backup for the Quality Director during absences or vacation
13. Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members
14. Other duties as assigned


- Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in an electrical, mechanical environment

- Three to five years’ experience with comprehensive Quality Management Systems preferably AS9100

- Certified Quality Auditor

- Familiarity with Regulatory requirements is an asset, preferably Canadian Aviation Regulations

- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail

- Excellent analytical, strong verbal and written communication skills

- Must be able to effectively handle conflicting priorities with limited supervision


  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to relate to customers and to all levels of an organization
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents
  • Ability to understand program requirements and enforce compliance adherence to the contract scope
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other fundamental data based applications
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with multitasking ability
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Must be able to utilize complex problem solving techniques and critical thinking in support of assignments
  • Must be thorough and accurate and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment
