A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the department of anatomy and cell biology of the Schulich School of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. Enthusiastic and driven early-career scientist (graduated within one year or less) who whish to study the mechanisms underlying cellular secretory stress responses are encouraged to apply. The Lajoie lab is using a combination of genetic, live cell imaging and biochemical approaches in both yeast and mammalian cell systems to understand how cells detect, respond and cope with secretory protein stress under normal and pathological conditions. The lab interests include heart diseases and Huntington’s disease. Previous experience in any of these fields is an asset: fluorescence microscopy, mammalian cells tissue culture (especially cardiomyocytes), molecular biology, and yeast genetics.

Please email a brief cover letter describing your research experience and future interests to Patrick Lajoie. The lab will be set up early 2013 and the position will be available starting March 2013 or later.
