UM Canada is looking for a Manager, Broadcast Investment to be a part of our continued success and work with our current and new clients.
The role of the Manager is to assist the Director, Broadcast Investments with the direction, style and tone of UM Canada’s executional product. The Manager will provide direction on buying strategies and develop operating procedures for the group. In this role you will be responsible for the leadership and mentoring of Supervisors, Buyers and Media Assistants on a continuous basis. Your role is to lead an integrated media buying team ensuring brilliant and flawless media executions.
-Assume overall responsibility for purchase, reporting and monitoring of all media buys within the group for designated clients
-Ensure that the media product is current and reflects the most recent developments, information, and opportunities
-Identify and communicate Buying market conditions changes and developments
-Ensure media services provided meet and surpass Client objectives
-Participate in negotiations of UM Canada Corporate opportunities/negotiations
-Approve and present Client planning guides and AOR Manuals
-Provide leadership and mentorship to your team and UM Canada as a whole
-Hire, train, supervise and motivate Supervisors, Buyers and Media Assistants in the group
-Ensure the UM Canada in-house computer system addresses Client(s) requirements
-Represent UM Canada at industry associations and events
-Assist in new business presentations
-Ensure that all invoices, discrepancies and billing are cleared and issued in a timely fashion.
Skills and Experience:
-University graduate or advertising/marketing College Diploma
-Minimum eight (8) years experience as a Supervisor/Buyer
-Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
-Excellent problem solving ability
-Very well organized
-Detailed, extremely accurate, analytical and the ability to multi-task on a regular basis
-Exceptional people skills – the ability to manage people and ensure they are as productive as possible is a must
-Specific management training or experience is a definite asset
-Has initiative and is self motivated
-Able to work both independently and in a group setting
-Proficiency in applicable computer programs (Word, Excel, DDS)
-Advanced understanding of syndicated and media research tools.
