Orlick Industries is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor. This role is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness and safe working conditions of Orlick’s facilities (both internally and externally), as well as, all plant operating equipment and maintenance staff.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Direct responsibility for the supervision of the maintenance department
Establish and operate a full preventive maintenance program for all plant equipment.
-Track and document monthly PM reports, work orders in a timely fashion and identify equipment breakdown causes.
-Maintain and document accurate equipment histories.
-Ensure spare parts are available for all production equipment within allowable
-Ensure all plant equipment operates at a safe working level and coordinate repairs to equipment as required.
-Ensure equipment repairs and maintenance is viewed and accomplished in a cost-effective manner consistent with operating budget and production requirements.
-Communicate with all necessary Production Departments to schedule major repair issues without conflicting with production scheduling and customer demands.
-Communicate with other Orlick Maintenance Supervisors to trouble shoot, discuss and share maintenance ideas and initiatives.
-Liaise with external contractors and ensure they are competent trained professionals when scheduling plant visits.
-Utilize effective leadership and teambuilding techniques to develop a successful department. Motivate members of the department, treat all employees with fairness and consistency, and deal with problems promptly and consistently.
-Ensure all departmental personnel have received the required training and skills development to effectively perform their job. Formally evaluate departmental personnel on an annual, semi-annual and as required basis.
-Pursue continuous improvement in new projects, production equipment and facilities, by reducing costs, equipment downtime and improving operating efficiencies.
Education: Post-secondary education (preferably with an Engineering focus)
Licenses: Maintenance Mechanic – Millwright and/or Industrial Electrician
Minimum 10 years hands-on machine maintenance experience
Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of industrial machinery and preventive maintenance programs
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Proven Supervisory and Production Management skills
Ability to prioritize and coordinate the activities effectively
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Detail and results oriented
Competent with MS Office
