POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: JR. LIAISON OFFICER
REPORTS TO: LIAISON DIRECTOR
EFFECTIVE DATE: ASAP
DEPARTMENT: LIAISON

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest private boarding school in Canada. CIC has an enrollment of 1800 students from over 73 countries. As a boarding school, students live, sleep, eat, study, play and learn while staying in one of our 5 residences. We are currently recruiting for a Junior Liaison Officer to join us in the delivery of our Total Care Education System.

The Junior Liaison Officer (PRC) reports directly to the Liaison Director and is responsible for representing Columbia International College with students, parents and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Student Liaison:

  • Provide help and advice to students from China on academic and personal matters, such as study habits, language learning and culture adaptation
  • Act as a point of contact and referral for students from China
  • Work with Academic departments to communicate with parents about their concerns
  • Work with other departments to ensure that a high level of care is provided for all students
  • Assist with special projects and events as they are assigned

Translation and Interpretation:

  • Translate a variety of school's marketing materials and press releases
  • Support other school members when needed

Writing and Composing:

  • Write business proposals
  • Compose business letters

Summer Camp Program:

  • Participate in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Summer Camp

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • First hand experience in the Canadian education system
  • Graduate from a Canadian university preferred
  • Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience in living and traveling throughout Asia
  • People management skills; communications and decision making skills
  • Strong computer skills including all Microsoft products
  • Strong character in honesty and integrity
