Job Description
The Developer is part of the Development and Shared Services organization.

Define and Develop Technology Solutions and Service Clients

· Develop new applications and performs unit / component test for new application development efforts

· Develop quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and LoB requirements, and follow technology architecture standards

· Create and maintains quality code, consistent with quality standards; provides code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment

· Conduct program/ system research, analysis, detailed design and problem resolution

· Work closely with Business analyst to translate business requirements into timely and robust technical solutions

· Ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding

· Participate in identifying and recommending development/testing solutions/tools in support of project/application objectives

· Document the application to facilitate maintenance

· Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to development and quality standards

· Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) - including development of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost, etc.

Deploy, Maintain and Support Technology Solutions

· Support business enquiries and business activities through small enhancements and break/fix Implementations

· Assist in the development/maintenance of comprehensive processes for prevention of issues and participate in problem determination and timely resolution of incidents

· Analyze incident reports and outages, performing impact assessment for incidents

· Monitor application / service performance

Effective Member of Team (Teamwork)

· Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest

· Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units

Communicate work status, as required, in a timely and accurate

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will be a committed team player possessing the following skills/competencies:

Position requires a blend of Java, AIX/Unix, WebSphere Application Server, LDAP directories, Active Directory, IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator and ORACLE 11G experience.
DB2 and SQL Server knowledge a plus
Experience working with MicrosoftTFS a plus.
Knowledge of MKS code management tool
Experience in identifying and resolving performance issues
Experience working with vendor product
Comfortable working on large scale, multi-component complex distributed systems
Ability to perform all aspects of research, analysis and/or development
Ability to work independently with other areas/team members to meet deliverable requirements
Experience and knowledge of SDLC is an asset
Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff
Highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented

College diploma
Bachelor’s degree

Specific Discipline(s) and other information:

Education / Experience in computer sciences preferred
Candidates who do not meet the education requirements but have extensive experience in relevant application development will be considered
