Reporting to the Software Manager, the Intermediate Software V&V Designer/Engineer requires advanced formal engineering or computer science education and training, superior problem solving skills and independent decision-making ability. Responsibilities include validation of requirements and verification of software systems in a team setting. Systems typically require the analysis, design and development of real-time control algorithms, sensor interfaces, serial and other communications interfaces.


- Perform requirement validation and software verification for the application of computer technology in real-time embedded control environment
- Review software architecture and formal structured design against system requirements
- Review detailed design documents and standards against source codes
- Perform source code analysis, requirement verification review and testing
- Perform traceability and test coverage analysis
- Develop and document formal test plans, test cases, test procedures and test results
- Develop, deploy and support DO-178B processes, reviews (SOI), verification plans and review checklists
- Develop and deploy DO-178B software tools qualification processes, plans, procedures and reports
- Perform system and software documentation review and sign-off
- Support specification and development of test software and test equipment qualification
- Mentor and review the work of junior software engineering employees
- Perform activities as assigned by the Software Manager


- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent combination of training and

- Prior experience working in multi-disciplines team setting in Software, Engineering or Aerospace Industries

- Minimum 3 years’ experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems

- Minimum 2 years’ experience with integrated software development environment (SDE) tools and scripting languages (Python)

- Minimum 2 years working experience on MPC55xx, ARM7 and Cortex-Mx micro-controller series

- Experience with DO-178B processes or equivalent formal certification processes

- Strong competence in C and Assembler languages

- Good working knowledge of software testing methodologies and profiling tools

- Good working experience on software tools qualification and testing

- Four years’ experience with version control systems and problem reporting system

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

- Ability to reliably meet deadlines and project objectives

- Working experience with safety critical and high performance products in aerospace, robotics, power and/or medical applications
