Objective:
To provide support to the Manager, Human Resources regarding a wide variety of Human Resources functions including but not limited to: HRIS Administration, Health & Safety/WSIB, Administration, Recruitment and other HR Administration.

Responsibilities:
Training Coaching & Development
Ensuring all new Head Office employees receive an Orientation package prior to their first day, that is current and a true reflection of the Company
Tracks all Performance Assessment scores in the HRIS
Assists in Training and Development initiatives by ensuring stores receive required training material(s). Provides appropriate feedback on the effectiveness of training initiatives
Assists in the development of training seminars and prepares materials necessary to execute
Assists in the implementation of the most current and up-to-date corporate manuals/training programs
When required, facilitate training seminars and/or meetings

Hiring & Succession Planning
Oversees recruitment initiatives including ad placement, weekly recruitment follow up, job fairs, on-line recruitment site maintenance, resume management, recruitment resource management, internal job postings, and the employee referral program
Assist in recruitment process by conducting prescreen interviews for Head Office positions and/or behavioural interviews for entry and intermediate positions, completes references, prepares offer letters, and participates or assists in organizing orientations for new employees
Support the development of recruitment initiatives and assists in the design of recruitment materials
Spearheads career fairs and ensures effective Company branding and overall success
Develops and fosters positive relationships with outside partners, including colleges
Updates Weekly Vacancy Report
Updates and maintains the Monthly Turnover Report

Policies & Procedures
Adheres to and implements Human Resources Policies and Procedures
Ensures all written policies remain updated
Establishes and maintains retail contacts to ensure policies remain competitive in the industry

Health & Safety
Develops, implements, and monitors H&S guidelines that meet required safety standards
Processes and follows up with WSIB claims and back-to-work initiatives
Committed to reducing workplace accidents and promoting our corporate commitment to H&S by adhering to Provincial OH&S Act
Reinforces and demonstrates a positive H&S attitude and working climate; holds and arranges information sessions with employees on H&S issues
Shows interest and involvement in the organization’s H&S performance
Upholds safety rules and procedures; supports enforcement, including disciplinary action
Develops a working relationship with H&S Committees and Representatives and supports their roles
Performs informal workplace inspections daily and formal inspections quarterly
Makes every reasonable attempt to resolve any employee H&S concern(s)
Corrects any substandard or unsafe acts or unsafe conditions
Reports, investigates, and properly documents all incidents/injuries to employees, visitors, and customers

Administrative
Maintains the HRIS system, including adding new hires, changes, terminations, Performance Improvement Plans and attendance/vacation tracking and other relevant employee information
Initiates and monitors all leave of absences – STD, LTD, and Maternity/Parental Leaves
Maintains Salary Wage Grids to reflect updated provincial salaries for Store level
Prepares bi-weekly payroll for Head Office; assists in the administration of all relevant payroll information for both Head Office and stores
Supports and assists the Benefits Coordinator regarding the Company Benefits programs
Fields general human resources queries from Head Office and store employees as requested
Sorts and distributes mail
Other projects and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or Community College post-diploma in Human Resources Management
Working towards CHRP designation required
Minimum 2 years Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity
Experience working in a retail environment – definite asset
Proficient experience with HRIS
Excellent computer skills with and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word, working knowledge of Visio is a nice to have
Thorough knowledge of Provincial Employment Standards and legislations
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize
Highly flexible and adaptable with the ability to react quickly and effectively when called upon – possesses a sense of urgency
Strong attention to detail with a flare at organization, extremely results-driven
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A true team player with a love for customer service
English - French Bilingual an asset
