The Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering offers an appointment to a tenure-track position as Instructor commencing September 1, 2013, or as soon as can be arranged. The successful applicant will have expertise in at least two of the following areas: engineering surveying (high precision positioning and deformation monitoring; underground surveying); surveying design and adjustment; or land administration in Canada. Having expertise also in survey law or land use planning, or both, in Canada, would be an advantage.
The person appointed to this position will be responsible for coordinating and instructing in undergraduate courses, laboratories in surveying and engineering practica, and will be involved with advisement and recruitment of undergraduate students and curriculum development.
Applicants for the position should have at least a Master’s Degree and ideally a PhD in Geomatics Engineering or in a related field. A demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching is required and practical work experience would be an asset. Applicants should be qualified to become registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of New Brunswick as this registration is a condition of eligibility for tenure. Being qualified for registration as a New Brunswick Land Surveyor, or as a Canada Lands Surveyor, would be an asset.
