Overview:
Stantec is seeking to take advantage of the numerous opportunities in northern Canada and needs energetic and experienced Senior and Intermediate Project Managers for the Environmental Services Group (ESG), based in our Yellowknife or Whitehorse Offices. With an excellent team and infrastructure already in place, we are looking for the right individuals to work with existing management and staff to grow the ESG to the next level.

Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in the environmental management or remediation field in Northern Canada, with background in a consulting environment, have an undergraduate or higher degree in a related field and, for remediation professionals, either possess or be eligible for a professional designation (P.Ag., P. Geo., P.Bio., P.Eng). Candidates should possess a solid technical background in either environmental management or remediation and be comfortable promoting Stantec’s capabilities in both areas.

Responsibilities:
Business Development and Client Relationship Management;
Proposal Preparation;
Project management including an understanding of applying Stantec’s Health, Safety and Quality Management Processes to Project Execution;
Collaboration with professionals and peers across Canada;
Report writing and review; and
Conducting field work if required to support projects.

Qualifications:
Bachelors and/or master's degree in an environmental or related field with 10 + years of environmental experience;
A professional designation (P.Eng, P.Geo., P.Biol., or other), or be in a position to obtain it.
Experience in Planning and Permitting, Environmental Management, biophysical sciences or Environmental Remediation Projects;
Experience in managing a team, project management and mentoring junior staff;
Thorough knowledge of current environmental regulations pertaining to the candidate’s area of expertise;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Passion for the North and the Northern Canadian experience; and
A valid drivers license is required.
