We are seeking candidates who exhibit professionalism, have demonstrated strong customer service skills and critical thinking skills to be Driver Examiner representative of ICBC based at the Prince George Driver Licensing Centre. You will play a key role in conducting road tests for all classes of driver licensing.
Your proven communication skills will allow you to thoroughly explain licensing policies and road test results to customers in a polite and professional manner. Just as important are your strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Combined with a common sense approach, they will assist you in accurately determining the knowledge and ability of drivers and if requirements for driver's license renewals and duplicates have been met.
To meet the challenges of this role you have exceptional knowledge of the rules of the road, are known to model safe driving and enjoy working within a structured yet independent work setting. You are a patient active listener able to navigate a variety of challenging customer interactions.
Your qualifications also include a valid class 5 BC driver's license, eligibility requirements to qualify for a Class I Learner's license and eligibility requirement to successfully complete the AAMVA Driver Examiner Certificate Program.
As a successful candidate you will be required to:
- work with various classes of license testing, including motorcycles and commercial vehicles
- undergo a health assessment based on the job requirements
- undergo a criminal record check by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General with acceptable results as required under the Criminal Records Review Act.
This assignment will be for approximately nine (9) months back-filling a parental leave. Tentative training is scheduled for mid-March 2013 and may take place in Greater Vancouver or Prince George. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
This position requires regular overnight travel to conduct road tests and unit work in other nearby communities. Overnight travel will also be required to attend training, meetings, and road test coverage within the region.
