ARAMARK Canada is currently looking to hire a full time banquet captain for the Catering Department at Carleton University.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Catering, the Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating daily catering requirements/ events and set up for events and conference groups on Campus


  • Coordinate catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/ groups
  • Supervise staff and agency staff if needed
  • Responsible for execution of function from beginning to end
  • Review catering contract and issue room set up instructions
  • Have pre-rally meetings prior to events
  • Ensure job instructions are clearly understood so that tasks are properly completed in a timely manner and according to customer expectation.
  • Assure quality, courteous service is provided to all customers
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Perform cash handling procedures
  • Resolve customer complaints
  • Perform opening and/or closing of catering room
  • Works in conjunction of the Assistant Manager on training of staff in job duties and Aramark catering standards
  • Assist with Care Kit Program
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to deliver and pick up food items
  • Perform pre-trip vehicle inspection
  • Maybe required to record information on vehicle mileage, fuel costs, repairs or vehicle damage
  • Ensure vehicle inspections are completed
  • Complete monthly equipment inventory
  • Ensure cleanliness of catering room
  • Ensure proper handling of Company Property/ equipment
  • Ensure adherence to Aramark Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure adherence to Aramark Health and Safety Policies
