The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for the generation and development of new strategic business opportunities, with a particular emphasis on identifying, scoping and presenting promising new opportunities.
A successful BDE will be a hunter and is comfortable working independently and as such excellent time management and organizational skills are essential. You will work closely with your manager and colleagues creating your sales plan and they in turn will support you and the business relationships you develop. You will have great listening skills and strive to develop a true working partnership with the client in order to provide solutions that positively impact their organization's productivity and profit. You will be self-motivated and have passion and drive for personal success.
Business Development and new account generation through effective lead generation and proactive prospecting
Working cooperatively and effectively in a team sales environment
Enhanced sales knowledge and skills at all phases of the sales cycle
Achieving sales quotas and objectives
Keeping up to date on product and industry knowledge
Solution and relationship sales approach based upon clients requirements
Completion of on-going business development/activity metrics and forecasts
Sales skills and experience required to develop relationships at all levels within an organization
Business knowledge and background for selling IT solutions at all levels of an organization
Knowledge of WCMS, intranets, collaboration, web 2.0, and/or enterprise search solutions and technologies preferred, although willing to train an individual with the appropriate attitude and aptitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective presentation skills
Effective negotiation skills
Effective time management skills
Experience and knowledge of solutions sales in a team environment
An ability to prioritize and multi-task within a complex sales environment
Minimum of 5 years in a business development role within key corporate accounts selling at all levels of an organization
Willingness to travel within Western Canada (up to 20%)
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
