Financial Services Administrative Assistant

An established Financial/Retirement Planning Company is seeking a Financial Services Assistant to take ownership of the day to day administration, office functions and provide administrative support to a Senior Advisor. This is a full-time position requiring the following qualifications:
Education: Basic post secondary education required, ideally a College graduate in Business Administration or Marketing ; must have successfully completed or be willing to take the LLQP or the IFIC Canadian Investment Funds Operations Course (for back-office processing). 2nd language would be an asset. i.e. French or Mandarin.
Qualities: Professional manner, very well organized, able to multi-task to deadlines and within budgets; able to solve problems and think on your feet; very strong inter-personal and communication skills; desire to learn and develop professionally; able to work without direct supervision in a small team environment.
Skills: familiarity with ACT, OFFICE suite, W-connect, Univeris or other back-office trading system, average or better typing speed; trading expertise is an asset but not required; marketing skills are also an asset as are: Financial Panning, pprocessing transactions, Marketing and Investment Information Research.
Work Experience: Previous experience in an investment dealer, insurance company, bank or mutual fund company, or financial planning firm experience is an asset. The addition of a life Insurance license is a definite asset.
Duties: Assist in all aspects of client service day-to-day; maintain and update documentation; manage schedules, calendars and appointments; answer basic client inquiries; complete RRSP transfer documents and Mutual Fund/ Life insurance applications, assist in marketing activities; perform various office duties as required by the financial advisor to meet business objectives.
Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience; Benefits, potential financial assistance with courses taken.
