Design Engineer – Industrial Manufacturing

Our client, a leading international manufacturer and distributor of industrial equipment has an immediate opening for a Boiler System Design Engineer. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established and growing company that has been thriving for 25 years in Canada.

The qualified candidate must have 5+ previous years experience with HVAC system design preferably 3-5 years experience with steam applications , as a key member of the engineering team you will be required, but not limited to;

Responsibilities:

  • Design piping and wiring systems specific to customer boiler applications including, water/steam piping, water feed, blow down, fuel piping for natural gas, #2 oil, water treatment softener + chemical, ventilation and exhaust systems
  • Proficient knowledge of solid works to create 3 dimensional drawings from sales orders
  • Proficient knowledge of solid works to create detailed 2 dimensional drawings for fabrication and manufacturing
  • Conduct customer consultations for proper and efficient design as per customer requirements
  • Occasional travel in the GTA and surrounding area with some overnight (expected)
  • Ensures compliance between Safety Authority and Ontario Technical Standards
  • Create design drawings and heat gain/loss calculations for registration

Requirements:

  • P.Eng. Professional Engineer License valid in Ontario
  • 5+ years experience HVAC system design preferably 3-5 years with steam applications
  • Strong leadership and excellent team management skills
  • Experienced with TSSA, safety codes, building codes and other regulatory parties
  • Exceptional skill at delivering customer satisfaction
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Well organized, goal driven - self-starter
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point and solid works
  • Valid G driver’s licence
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering a strong asset
