The family of an Intellectual woman with dementia is looking for a health care professional and companion to work day shifts on a team of nurses, caregivers, and other professionals.
The woman is paralysed one side, but thinks she does not need help, and therefore only allows people in her home if she can establish friendship and trust in the applicant based on shared interests or background. She likes to laugh, sing, exercise, and daily enjoys outings and activities when she accepts her caregivers. She experienced abuse as a child and has anger outbursts.
We require strong home care experience (a) calming dementia behaviors and (b) manually transferring a tall heavy client, but to be accepted by the client it is essential you develop that connection. She lived in Kenya to work as a nurse. She loves nature, gardens, swimming, canoeing, arts, classical and Latin music, and travelling, learning French and Spanish. She understands English perfectly, but speaks back in her mother tongue, Dutch.
To apply please email how you meet requirements (a) and (b) above, and why you think will connect to the client, based on your background and interests. We will meet the wage expectations of applicants after a 3 month probation period.
