Position Title: Child and Youth Recreation Supervisor (0-14 yrs)
Terms Full Time – 40 hours per week
Salary: $13.00 per hour
Start Date: August 1, 2014

Purpose and Objective
To facilitate and supervise the on-site delivery of programs and services to children and youth aged 0-14 years. Also, to assist in managing and coordinating staff and volunteers in two service areas and track key performance indicators. To follow YMCA policies and procedures, integrating YMCA core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. To be part of the team working towards providing quality YMCA programs. Bring forward new program ideas.
Key Detailed Functions (but not limited to):
- Assist in direct program delivery
- Supervise and assist in managing youth recreation staff and volunteers.
- Scheduling and tracking of youth recreation staff and volunteers.
- Ensure that recreation programs and services are achieving the YMCA vision and mission.
- Ensure quality programs and services are being delivered.
- Track and report on key performance statistics.
- Supervise staff, volunteers and daily operation of the REC Room.
- Manage REC Room birthday parties and group bookings.
- Support Coordinator of Recreation Services in administrative duties.
- Other duties as assigned.

Highschool Diploma or GED.
Experience planning and facilitating recreation programs for children and youth
Experience in Microsoft Office
Experience in overseeing direct reports
Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Search
Physical ability to do the duties required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Diploma or Degree in Physical Education/Recreation field an asset.
Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven leadership skills
Proven computer skills in a Windows environment
Exceptional ability to self motivate and function with minimal direction and supervision
Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with user groups, community groups and program participants
Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload
Commitment to customer service
