Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Field Advisor will review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and help to ensure the Client exceeds its safety goals through effective implementation of their HSE policies and programs. This position will work closely with client safety representatives, forepersons, operators and labourers on right of way restoration project in Dawson Creek.
Ensures site compliance and training to required procedures; documents all accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions.
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
May perform safety education or training.
Provide new-employee health and safety orientations.
Ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies.
Lead, guide and mentor employees on xi safety and industry specific safety policies and procedures.
Act as liaison between client and contractor, with applicable personable skills.
Monitor compliance with Xi Safety’s - Safety Management System, our clients’ safety processes as well as provincially legislated safety regulations.
Must be able to conduct and lead incident investigations.
Other duties as required
Minimum 3 years’ experience in general construction required, preference given to those with Pipeline HSE experience.
Required certification or equivalence: H2S Alive, CSTS, CSO, NCSO, Ground Disturbance Level 2.
Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated computer competency with Microsoft Office applications is an asset.
Must supply computer, printer, cell phone, camera, your own vehicle (pickup truck within 3 years old), own WCB, 5,000.000.00 PLPD on vehicle and 2,000.000.00 General Liability Insurance.
LOA, mileage (1st 100km included) is supplied within our competitive day rate as well.
