In the early years the company had a family like culture, but as the company grew this changed. It became very corporate driven. The company went through many reorganizations which made it difficult at times to feel connected. Flex-able with work life balance.
Both companies are great to work with. I work in safety and both have a great commitment to safety, great management, I have worked on great projects and really enjoyed my work. I have had only had wonderful experiences with both companies.

This Australian company sought a Canadian presence and was a pleasant organization to work for in the Resources Sector. Unfortunately their Toronto branches never quite recovered from the shock of the 2008 recession and they eventually closed down operations.
Management was approachable and empathetic to the employee's situation. The workplace culture was friendly enough since the office was still relatively small (250 employees max) and people could get to know each other and collaborate.
The most enjoyable part of the job was the people. The hardest part of the job were the occasionally-challenging clients that made the engineering work/process difficult, but it was our job as consultants to manage that with respect and candidness.

WorleyParsons was an enjoyable work place with lots of knowledgeable and friendly co-workers. All of the staff had adequate room to work, which seems to be rare for a construction site, and the offices were kept very clean.

There is no job security and it seems that the longer you are with them the more likely they are to let them go before someone you has been there for a shorter period of time. It costs them less in benefits. Also if you disagree with anything they look at you as not being a "team player".

I’m a former employee of the Cold Lake office. The company and job allowed me to pursue interests outside of work. It was never an issue to get a few days off here or there, if a personal emergency occurred. The local client kept us pretty busy, but opportunities to try out a different project would pop up.

WorleyParsons is far better than its EPCM competitors. It truly values its employees, offering good wages and outstanding benefits, but carries a gigantic management team, which contributes negatively to the company's overhead and limits the chance of advancement.
The company's line of business is extremely risky, not offering any job security. But this is at least recognized by the management, who pays the employees well while there are projects.
