FULL-TIME PROPERTY MANAGER
HOMES MANAGEMENT

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Property Management, manages and directs the operation of Wood Buffalo Housing and Development’s Corporation’s Gap Housing and Community Housing Divisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the full spectrum of property management activities in a unique environment of third party community housing management and corporate owned projects
  • Monitoring of rental arrears and formulating decisions relative to appropriate legal or other action as required
  • Maintenance of an accurate administrative system and production of a statistical management report as required by policy and in conjunction with established procedural (government) specifications
  • Authorization of payment for all expenditures and maintaining an accounting system
  • Preparation of a monthly report to the Associate Director for his/her presentation to the Board of Directors
  • Preparation of financial and administrative reports for the President and Director, Property Management
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with local service agencies
  • Facilitation of good working relationships with local community organizations
  • Develop and monitor goals and objectives of the Gap Housing and Community Housing Divisions
  • Ensure that all inspections of all physical assets are completed as per schedule and initiate appropriate action when necessary
  • Ensuring that all operations, administration and maintenance related expenditures are within approved spending limits
  • Preparation and administration of the annual operations and administrative budget for each project within the portfolio
  • Attend monthly tenant communication meetings and Condominium Board meetings
  • Provide direction and supervision to reporting staff

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Property Management, Business Administration or other relevant degree/designation
  • Senior level experience in property management with a minimum of 7 years preferably with non-profit and market housing
  • Accredited Residential Manager (ARM®) designation
  • Experience and knowledge of the Residential tenancies Act, health Act, Alberta Social Housing Act and the Alberta Building Codes
  • Exemplary customer satisfaction skills, including dealing effectively with tenants, co-workers, general public and management team
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft applications and Yardi software
  • Effective communication, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities are essential to this position
  • Must have valid 5th Class Driver’s License and own vehicle
