Reporting to the District Manager, the Area Manager is integral to overall District Management.
The Area Manager is responsible for the management of one retail location, and overseeing the
performance of an additional four locations.
This unique position combines the management of a home location (with the support of an
Assistant Store Manager) with the coaching of an additional four locations with Store Managers
The focus of the role is on sales coaching, mentoring retail managers, and staff development. The Area Manager is responsible for achieving quarterly/annual sales targets in his/her home store, and coaching the area stores to achieve sales success.
The hours of work involved may vary and be irregular, as is required to meet the objectives of employment. The nature of the work means that you shall be required to work flexible hours, as dictated by business volume, and annual retail business cycles.
Maximize sales results; assisting Store Managers to achieve assigned sales quotas and total billed revenue targets; consistent monthly sales
Formulate incentives plans to encourage sales department staff and maximize the total revenue per sale
Mentor Store Managers to achieve store goals for payroll, shrinkage reduction, conversion, UPT and average dollar transaction and financial targets defined in quarterly sales plans
Fosters a continuous learning environment in all stores, and monitors the training of all retail team members
Responsible for the consistent application of operations and human resources procedures and policies in all retail locations
Assist the Store Managers of their Managed stores to Attract, retain, train and motivate a diverse retail sales force
Establish performance goals and monitors performance on a continual basis with performance reviews of managed Store Managers
Assists in the development of quarterly, monthly and weekly tactical business plans to exceed all key objectives
Establish and maintain relationships with members of the Wireless Express Senior Team as well as key members of Rogers management to ensure knowledge and understanding of current products, programs and initiatives.

LEVEL OF DIRECTION RECEIVED
Incumbent consults with the District Manager regarding financial or budget matters and human resources actions such as terminations and hiring of staff.
MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS
A valid First Aid Certificate: Emergency First Aid with CPR level A or B is required
A satisfactory CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) records check is required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
3-5 years in a sales driven role
3-5 years in a management and development role
Post secondary education in Business Administration, Marketing, and/or Sales
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to interpret sales strategies, coaching others to achieve targets
Effective people management; fostering career and skills development of staff
Demonstrated customer service skills
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite
