Whaler Industrial Contracting Inc. is an Alberta Construction Company, wholly owned by Trotter and Morton, whose core business interests are industrial and construction management. Whaler Industrial Contracting Inc. provides general and mechanical construction services to the oil and gas industry in Western Canada.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Lead for our Hardisty job site. This is a temporary position and is a 10/4 shift.
-Developing and implementation of project specific quality programs including inspection test plans
-Review of contract documents including scope of work, drawings, and specifications to ensure design compliance
-Coordinate third party and owner inspection such as compaction testing, concrete testing, and NDE contractors
-Identify, record, and determine the disposition of all (NCR) non-conformance reports and (RFIs) requests for information
-Approval of technical documents and review of subcontractor quality documentation
-Selection and review of welding procedure specification
-Welder qualification and testing
-Inspection and QA documentation audits of field construction and shop fabrication
-Hydro test planning and execution including; identifying piping systems, inspecting piping systems. Determine hydro pressures, preparing test drawings/boundaries, selecting pressure test equipment, and completing pressure test records.
-Turnover co-ordination and review
-Materials management including selection of materials, preparation of RFQs, and material receiving and inspection.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Journeyman\woman certification, technical diploma, or suitable field experience
-Must have a thorough understanding of drawings including process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, general arrangement, and isometric drawings.
-Familiar with industry standards including CSA Z662, ASME B31.3,CSA W59/47.1, and ASME Section IX
-CWB Level 1 or 2 welding inspection
-Proficient with MS Office and Excel
