This position is a part of the Oriented Strand Board (OSB) Human Resources Team and a member of the Hudson Bay OSB and Timberlands Leadership team.

As a strategic business partner, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the human resources systems at the Hudson Bay OSB manufacturing facility and Timberlands operations. This position focuses on meeting business performance objectives through effective HR planning, development, coaching and problem solving.

Key Functions:
Serve as a member of the lead team promoting the safety and well being of all of the associates in the production facility.

  • Major responsibilities include providing direct supportand consultation for:
  • Recruitment, selection, orientation and on-boarding of new Associates
  • Associate relations/involvement strategies in a unionized environment
  • HR information systems management
  • Performance management process
  • Work systems design and implementation
  • Annual wage and salary planning review processes
  • Site training and team development
  • Compliance activities and related systems
  • Business-wide HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects

The successful candidates must possess the following:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources Manager experience or equivalent HR generalist experience
  • Solid experience providing counsel to leaders and employees in issue resolution and employee relations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build positive relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated project planning and organizational skills including project and time management
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using data and metrics to identify and address HR issues and trends
  • Demonstrated strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong team orientation and successful experience working with teams
  • High degree of integrity (including handling confidential information) and strong work ethic

Desired Qualifications

  • 4-year degree
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • HR experience in a unionized facility
  • Professional HR Certification
