LOCATION: Western Canada
The incumbent would be responsible for acquiring and maintaining a solid base of customers as well as maintaining a high level of profitability for the assigned market segmentation for the WHG portfolio of the assigned hotels in Western Canada Region. You would be accountable for generating budgeted revenue through development and implementation of a Sales & Marketing strategy and serve as a Sales and Marketing advisor for assigned regional properties in the specific area of responsibility.
Set and agree upon individual production & action goals.
Take direct ownership of negotiating, through RFP, national Westmont accounts impacting multiple locations in Western Canada
Maintain strong relationship and ensures the integrity of the key accounts within the assigned segmentation.
Acquire and maintain profitable accounts that contribute to the hotel properties revenue forecasts.
Active in developing new business and the promotion of existing business.
Determine prospective customers from market information and keep accurate records of potential customers to follow through on all potential business.
Quote and negotiate rates within established parameters.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
Co‐ordinate and conduct periodic competitive pricing reviews.
Engage with regional tourism organizations to ensure that all hotels maximize the benefit from such organizations.
Ensure full participation in company lead sales & marketing programs.
Work with National/Regional Sales initiatives.
Participate in trade shows.
Maintain an effective trace and follow‐up system for the key accounts / key prospect data base and monitors for accuracy.
Maximize site inspections and client contact in order to secure improved share of business potential.
Schedule effective out of town business trips and appointments within assigned market and budget.
Ensure that all national brand standards are implemented in assigned hotels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
University Degree in Business or Sales/Marketing or equivalent along with three (3) to five (5) years’ of sales experience with knowledge of competitive markets.
Experience in Hotel industry considered definite asset.
Demonstrates knowledge/ experience in advertising, promotional activities and negotiation skills.
Exceptional communication and strong interpersonal skills; innovative, resourceful and results oriented.
Must be a creative, possessing high degree of professionalism and administrative skills.
Background in the development & execution of business, marketing and sales plans.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
Computer literacy required, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
Proficiency in ACT will be an asset.
Ability to gather, compare, analyze and present data.
Ability to deal with all levels of management and staff in a professional manner.
Excellent time management skills with attention to detail and accuracy
