DP World Vancouver is located in the Burrard Inlet, adjacent to downtown Vancouver, and is a key gateway port for the Trans-Pacific Trades between Asia and the Pacific North West. In addition to serving the local market for British Columbia, DP World Vancouver provides direct daily intermodal rail connection to the important markets of Eastern Canada and the US Mid-West, covered by both Canadian Pacific (CP) and Canada National (CN) railways.
This individual will work alongside two other Maintenance Superintendents and report to the Manager, Engineering and Maintenance. The incumbent ensures delivery of the highest quality equipment maintenance, repair and technical services while meeting all applicable standards and requirements in terms of safety, quality, timelines and cost. The Maintenance Superintendent, Mechanical provides direction to the Foremen and Longshore personnel to meet short- and long-term production and maintenance goals.
The Maintenance Superintendent, Mechanical is expected to manage large projects and have a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems encountered in large industrial machinery. As well, they need to interact with union representatives, consultants and contractors.
The successful candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and current knowledge of industrial equipment. The Maintenance Superintendent, Mechanical is a professional with an excellent track record in communication, analytical thinking, project management and leading unionized employees.
